Elevate Your Well-Being with Yoga Classes and Workshops
Gentle Hatha Flow is a gentle class utilizing breath and gentle movements to open up the body. This class is safe for beginners and those with limited movements. All levels are welcome while focus is on breath, stability, and soft movements.
Yoga is an ancient practice that aligns the body, mind, and spirit through postures, breath control, and meditation. Modern science now recognizes its benefits for both physical and mental health. It enhances flexibility, strengthens muscles, and promotes relaxation by stimulating key systems, including the nervous and endocrine systems. It helps reduce stress, improve sleep, and boost well-being by activating the parasympathetic nervous system, supporting healing and recovery.
Yoga also improves brain function by regulating the stress-response system (HPA axis) and reducing emotional stress linked to the limbic system. Regular practice strengthens the nervous system, improves circulation, and promotes overall mind-body harmony, while enhancing posture, balance, and coordination.
Through deep, intentional breathing and meditation practices, yoga helps lower cortisol, promote relaxation, and quiet the mind.
Yoga postures, combined with breathwork and mindfulness, can significantly reduce chronic pain, in lower back, neck, and joints.
Poses that open the hips, shoulders, and spine can counteract the effects of sedentary lifestyles, making it easier to move freely.
Yoga is designed to restore balance to the body and prevent further injury for those recovering from muscle strains or joint injuries.
Jill Molinaro
Hi there! My name is Jill, I am honored to be part of the community here at Fermata Integrated Health.
Since 2004, amongst raising my three children and experiencing this crazy beautiful life, I have held quite a strong Yoga & Mediation practice and also found some time to dive into several Yoga Teacher Trainings. In January of 2012 I began my teacher training journey with Moksha Yoga (Hatha) in Brazil. I have since continued my education studying Yoga Therapy with Susie Hatley, Restorative Yoga with Judith Lassiter, Vinyasa Flow with Seane Corn, PowerFlow (Baptiste Yoga) with Pam Radar, teacher training with Nicki Doane (Maya Yoga), Ashtangha Vinyasa Flow training with Geoff Mackenzie from First Light Yoga, Vancouver, and YOTI (Yoga on the Inside) with Eddie Modestini and Trauma Informed/Sensitive Teacher Training through Yoga West which is affiliated with The Centre for Trauma and Embodiment & TCTYSY (Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga).
Every class & training I have taken has been an integral part of creating the teacher I am today, however; no teacher, training or book has prepared me more to stand before you more than this human experience of living life!
Each class I walk into knowing that it has the capacity to be a transformational journey for each individual; the simple fact that I have the opportunity to help facilitate such an experience is an honour. Any opportunity I have to stand before you in the practice room, I am standing WITH you, with great compassion, love, and deep respect for your personal experience.
I look forward to practicing with and guiding each and every human who walks through these doors.
Studio Notes
- Our studio is suited for small groups; the goal is to give each participant the chance for those who may not be very familiar with yoga to develop a strong yoga foundation in a safe environment, and for experienced yogis to go deeper into their own practice. There are 6 people maximum per class.
- the studio is open fifteen (15) minutes before class, and the door is locked promptly when class starts, do not be late!
- Bring a yoga mat to class, and a water bottle and a towel just in case
- Dress in layers, that way if you are warm or cool, you can adjust easily.
- Scents expand in the studio – please avoid all essential oils, perfumes and strong deodorants. Some people are allergic to scents.
- Please honour the silence of the studio before and after class
Studio Rules
- No talking in the studio before or after class
- No scents- please be mindful that all essential oils, perfumes etc expand in the yoga room. Please refrain from wearing any scents, as others may be allergic or sensitive to smells
- Arrive 10 minutes early, this allows you to get settled and ready for class and time to wind down before class
- No cell phones in the studio. Take a break!
- Drink plenty of water. Hydrate before and after class
Wear loose and comfortable clothes, ideally clothes that you can bend and move around in. For warm and not heated classes, dress in layers, and bring a pair of socks in case you get cold during savasana at the end of class
Please bring a water bottle, a small towel and a yoga mat
Yes, we warm the room with infrared heaters, an amazing healing heat that helps to detoxify the body. (Yes, please) But don’t worry, we don’t heat all the classes. Some are hot, some are warm (to warm the air slightly) and some are non heated.
Too bad, we lock the door immediately when class starts.
Monday To Friday (8:00 – 7:30)
For parking: there are 14 visitor parking spots for our building. With that being said, it is a busy area, and sometimes the parking lot gets very full. Feel free to park anywhere that does not say “reserved”. Alternatively, there is free 2-hour parking along Vaughn Street which is behind our building (the entrance to the building is also at the back). There is also parking on Clement Avenue across from the front of the building and along many of the other small surrounding streets nearby. Please make sure you give yourself a few extra minutes for parking, just in case!
